Acer Launches Three New Smartphones in India

Acer has finally arrived in India with three new touchscreens virtually encompassing all price ranges.The new phones launched are the beTouch e101, beTouch e200 and the top-of-the-line neoTouch.

beTouch e101







The beTouch e101 might be the cheapest of the lot but the phone still does pack in a decent punch. Boasting of a 3.2 inch resistive touchscreen and powered by the latest Windows Mobile 6.5.  It boasts with 256MB of RAM and 521MB of internal ROM. A basic 2 megapixel camera without autofocus completes the imaging side of things.The only things to crib about are the lack of Wi-Fi and 3G. However, GPRS (EDGE) and bluetooth do find their way in so it s not all that bad. The beTouch e101 retails at Rs. 11,900.




beTouch e200
Next in line is the slightly higher end beTouch e200. Although it is pricier than the e101, this one actually sports a smaller screen! It has a 3-inch, 240*400, 65k screen and comes with a 3.15 megapixel camera. The e200 comes with both Wi-Fi and 3G both of which were absent in the e101. Apart from these, most other features are same as that of its cheaper cousin. The e200 retails at Rs. 17,900.

neoTouch
NeoTouch is one of the few devices powered by the zippy Snapdragon processor to have arrived in India. The phone runs Windows Mobile 6.5 and has Acer's own custom UI running atop it. The phone boasts of a huge 3.8 inch resistive touchscreen that supports a resolution of 480x800 pixels. The phone is a multimedia powerhouse as well and sports a 3.5mm jack as well. On the imaging front, the 5-megapixel camera should suffice for more than casual photography. The camera comes packed with autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging and VGA video recording). The Acer neoTouch can be yours for Rs. 35,000.

Tata Indigo Manza at Rs 4.8 lakh!


It's a great car - a full blown sedan with loads of space and some very enticing engine options that include not only a sweet 1.4 litre petrol mill, but also the awesome 1.3 litre Quadrajet diesel.

MTNL To boost 3G in India


In a bid to Boost the 3G mobile service, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), India’s first 3G mobile service operator, today announced its partnership with leading mobile phone giant NOKIA as well as leading Laptop makers HCL Infosystems Ltd.

HCL will offer 3G Wireless broadband services on HCL’s select range of laptops and ME Net books. With this partnership MTNL 3G Data card, with its prepaid 3G GSM Wireless Broadband connections, would be available through HCL’s distribution channels  and in Mumbai and Delhi by mid November.
Mr. R.S.P. Sinha, CMD of MTNL, announced the partnership and saying, “MTNL Offer effectively brings 3G mobile and broadband services at more affordable prices than even 2G GSM mobile services.MTNL also that Bundled 3G Jadoo SIM shall be available with handsets of Nokia, HTC and Micromax makes. The operator also announced its 3G special offers of Festive season for Delhi circle with lowest Local-STD Voice and Video calls.


Majority of Indians use Twitter for news


Twitter may have gained immense popularity as a microblogging website but in India majority use it as a source for news.

A survey by technology site www.pluGGd.in says about 16 per cent of Indian users regularly 'tweet' to get news updates.While 11 per cent use it to stay in touch with their friends, 10 per cent use the website for research purpose, according to the survey.

The social networking site, launched in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, came into prominence in the country during the 26/11 attacks when eyewitnesses sent an estimated 80 'tweets' every five seconds, helping in compiling a list of the dead and injured.Analysts attribute the recent surge in its popularity in India to the controversial 'cattle class' tweet by Union minister Shashi Tharoor, who is an active Twitter user with nearly 3 lakh followers, arguably the largest in the country.

Motorola India Private Limited has launched the multimedia MOTO ZN300, a sleek slider with 3.1 megapixel camera and two MOTOYUVA WX candy bar entry-level handsets with FM radio - the MOTOYUVA WX160 and MOTOYUVA WX180.

The ZN300 has video recording too with 8x digital zoom and offers wireless printing. It has up to 32 GB removable memory.
